MALAYSIA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM 2010

WALLPAPER TEAM NAS MALAYSIA AFF SUZUKI CUP 2010.After their success in last year's South-East Asian Games, Malaysia are likely to pin their hopes largely on the young guns for the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup.

National coach K. Rajagopal, who guided the team to victory in the SEA Games which is restricted to players aged under 23, believes the youngsters can hold their own at the senior level and make a strong challenge for the title in two years time.

Several more established players will likely bolster the squad for the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup as Malaysia bid for their first triumph in the tournament.

Their best performance to date was in 1996 when they went down 1-0 to Thailand in the inaugural final.

LAOS NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM 2010

WALLPAPER TEAM LAOS AFF SUZUKI CUP 2010
Laos will field a young side in the qualifying tournament for the AFF Suzuki Cup.

After qualifying in first spot for the last tournament, Laos are keen to repeat the feat and take their place in the finals in December.

Laos will host the 25th SEA Games in 2009 and with an eye on that competition the current squad has only five players who are over 23 years of age. The hope is that the youngsters will take the experience they gain in competitions this year into the SEA Games.

The squad has been preparing for the AFF Suzuki Cup competition since July and a number of players have excelled in training. Striker Lamnao Singto, defender Chandalaphone Liapvisay and Sounthalay Saysongkham, a midfielder, have all impressed the coaching staff.

Laos pipped the Philippines for top spot by a point in the qualifying tournament in 2006 and they are looking for the same result this time around.

ALL ABOUT AFF HISTORY

    AFF Asean Football Federation

    Established in January 31 1984

The Asean Football Federation (AFF) has grown in size and stature since its inception in 1984 with five members.

Today, it has representatives from all 11 members of the regional grouping: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam.

Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia were the founder members, with the presidency rotating among these five members.

Its initial activity was the organization of a Champions Club competition, but this tournament was discontinued by the late 1980s because of lack of response.

As a political entity, Asean, grew in membership in the Nineties to include the former Indochina countries – Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos – and Myanmar.

But the AFF did not really take off until the Congress of 1996 when Tengku Ahmad Rithaudeen of Malaysia was elected to the presidency.

At the Congress, Dato' Paul Mony of Malaysia was appointed Secretary-cum-Treasurer.

But Tengku Rithaudeen and Dato' Paul were principal officials of the Football Association of Malaysia.

The inaugural AFF championship for the Tiger Cup was held in 1996 in Singapore with the six founder members participating.

Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar were also invited although they not yet members of the AFF. Thailand won the inaugural competition.

The AFF also organised the Dunhill Cup, a biennial competition that was inaugurated in 1997.

In this competition, three AFF members were invited to play against teams from East Asia and other regions of the world. The first Dunhill Cup was held in Kuala Lumpur and the second was held in Ho Chih Minh City in 1999.

The AFF also organizes competitions at other levels: Asean Under 17; Under 20; and Under 23.

Other competitions include Futsal Championship and the Women's Championship.

The AFF comprises a Council whose members are the President, four Vice Presidents, the Secretary-cum-treasurer, and a member from each of its affiliates.Source URL: https://nagasakti-android.blogspot.com/2010/11/

AFF Suzuki Cup 2010

The legend of the AFF Suzuki Cup – the successor to the Tiger Cup and Asean Football Championship – continues to grow with full house crowds and millions of television viewers witnessing the crowning of first time champions, Vietnam, two years ago.

The tournament, first staged in 1996, fires old rivalries and unearths new talent in a region transfixed by the beautiful game.

Football has long been regarded as the Asean region's most popular sport with teams battling for supremacy in the hotly contested South East Asian (SEA) Games football tournament prior to the introduction of the Asean Football Championship.

Every two years, the AFF Suzuki Cup intensifies the passion that is felt for the game throughout Asean.

As the only regional football competition to feature the senior teams of the Asean nations, the AFF Suzuki Cup has firmly supplanted the SEA Games, which is now contested at under-23 level.

Vietnam were the success story of the 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup.

They tore up the script as they overcame raging favourites Thailand to lift the AFF Suzuki Cup for the first time in their history after a dramatic denouement to an enthralling tournament.

With three minutes of added time gone in Hanoi's My Dinh Stadium, Vietnam's superstar striker Le Cong Vinh sealed the title with a nod of his highly prized head to send the nation into a frenzy.

The golden goal from the golden boy earned Vietnam a 1-1 draw with Thailand on the night and a 3-2 aggregate victory after their surprise win in the first leg of the final in Bangkok.

"I'm feeling overjoyed at the moment," said Vietnam coach Henrique Calisto, who won an intriguing tactical battle with Thailand's Peter Reid. "The difference with this team compared to Vietnam sides in the past is that they believe in themselves and they fought all the way until the final whistle."

The inaugural tournament in Singapore proved to be an unforgettable two-week football extravaganza, which drew large crowds to the National Stadium with millions more watching on television.

Overwhelming favourites Thailand lifted the trophy after defeating Malaysia 1-0 in a hard-fought final. The foundation had been set for an exciting competition that would continue to grab the attention of fans throughout South East Asia.

The passion was even more apparent two years later when the tournament was played in Vietnam. Riding on a wave of national euphoria the hosts swept all before them, trouncing champions Thailand 3-0 to reach the final.

The title was to elude Vietnam though as they went down 1-0 to unfancied Singapore in the final in one of the competition's biggest shocks to date.

Thailand reasserted their dominance when they hosted the event for the first time in 2000. With star striker Kiatisuk 'Zico' Senamuang in inspired form, the Thais powered their way to the title, comfortably winning all five games. In the final at Bangkok's Rajamangala Stadium, a hat-trick by Worrawoot Srimaka fired the Thais to a decisive 4-1 win over Indonesia.

The 2002 tournament was more tightly contested with the Thais just scraping into the semi-finals after losing 3-1 to Malaysia and drawing 1-1 with Singapore in the group stage.

Thailand took a 2-0 half-time lead over hosts Indonesia in the final at the Gelora Bungkarno Stadium in Jakarta. However, the Indonesians battled back to level the score and force the game to a penalty shootout, which Thailand won 4-2.

In their bid for a third straight title in 2004, Thailand fielded the so called 'Young Bloods' but the gamble of relying on youth failed to pay off and the defending champions were eliminated in the group stage in Malaysia. Co-hosts Vietnam also failed to reach the semis that matched Singapore with Myanmar while Malaysia took on Indonesia.

Singapore and Indonesia won through to a dramatic two-legged final with Singapore clinching their second title 5-2 on aggregate (3-1, 2-1) with a couple of fantastic performances. Singapore, guided by inspirational coach Raddy Avramovic, retained the title in dramatic fashion in early 2007. The Lions and Thailand took full advantage of co-hosting the tournament with both topping their groups.

The defending champions pipped Vietnam to top spot on goal difference with Indonesia missing out on the knockout stages despite also amassing five points. Thailand comfortably made the semi-finals with wins over the Philippines and Malaysia and a draw with Myanmar.

They were joined in the last four by Malaysia after Myanmar were surprisingly held to a draw by the Philippines and finished a point adrift of the Malaysians.

Singapore edged into the final with a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Malaysia after the two-legged semi had ended 2-2 on aggregate. They were joined by Thailand who beat Vietnam 2-0 in the away leg and held them to a goalless draw in Bangkok.

The final was a tense affair with Singapore taking a 2-1 lead after the first leg in a home game that was delayed for more than 10 minutes after the Thai team walked off the park to protest a penalty decision.

In the second leg in front of a capacity crowd of 30,000 at the Supachalasai Stadium, Pipat Thonkanya gave Thailand a ray of hope with a first half goal that took his side level on aggregate before a wonder strike from Khairul Amri in the 82nd minute sealed the issue for the titleholders.

Noh Alam Shah of Singapore was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and the Golden Boot Award winner for hammering home 10 goals, seven of them against Laos.

PERSIPURA TEAM SQUAD 2011 WALLPAPERS

Persipura, an acronym for Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Jayapura is a professional football club based in Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia. The tautology Persipura Jayapura is often used in local media.

The team nickname is "The Black Pearls" or Mutiara Hitam. Persipura competes in the top division in Indonesian football. Persipura's stadium is known as the Mandala Stadium, which has a capacity of over 25,000 fans. The stadium is located near Dok 5 beach. The stadium has a beautiful view and is close to the local fishing village. To the east is scenic Cyclops Mountains.

In Indonesia's second division, Persipura Jayapura were crowned champion in the 1979 and 1993 seasons. Despite his success, the team was still not able to appear competitive on the national football stage, until they succeeded in winning the top flight in 2005.

Entering the era of professional football with beginning of the Super League in the 2008–09 season, the team from Papua shows the trappings of a successful team. That, coupled with the improved appearance of several local players coached, supported the presence of qualified foreign players.

Predictably, the current squad led by coach Jacksen F. Tiago of Brazil was able to continue this success, more recently culminating in a Super League title.

RODA JC 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

RODA JC WALLPAPER club's most memorable European campaign was in 1988–89, when Roda made it through the winter in the European Cup Winners Cup before succumbing to the superb strikers of Bulgarian PFC CSKA Sofia: Hristo Stoichkov and Emil Kostadinov, who became superstars in Europe's major football leagues. Roda's most memorable European game, however, was played thirteen years later on 28 February 2002: after a 0–1 defeat to AC Milan in Kerkrade, Roda caused panic at the San Siro by winning the return leg by the same score. Roda even took the lead in the penalty shoot-out, but ended up losing the series. One penalty away from eliminating AC Milan.

Roda's position in Dutch football is best illustrated by their history in the KNVB Cup. Roda were good enough to make it to six finals, but the first three times and the last time the opponent in the final was one of the 'Big Three' – and Roda went home with the silver medal: PSV won in 1976 and 1988, Feyenoord in 1992 and 2008. In two of the club's cup finals, however, a 'non-Big Three' side was the opponent. Both times the cup went to Kerkrade: Heerenveen were beaten in 1997, NEC in 2000.

PSV EINDHOVEN 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

PSV EINDHOVEN WALLPAPER its name indicates, the club started out as a works team for employees of electronics conglomerate Philips on 31 August (then Koninginnedag), 1913 to celebrate the centennial defeat of the French in the Napoleonic wars. PSV's home stadium, the Philips Stadion, then known as Philips Sportpark, was built at the same time as the inauguration of the club, although its current capacity was achieved by renovations and improvements over the years.

Their success was built on the foundations laid down by other famous players like Willy van der Kuijlen, Jan van Beveren, Jan Poortvliet, and the van de Kerkhof brothers, Willy and René.

FC UTRECHT 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

FC UTRECHT wallpaper came into being as a merger of three clubs from the city of Utrecht: DOS, Elinkwijk and Velox.

It featured in the UEFA Cup in the 1980s several times but suffered a downturn in fortunes after 1991 and had to wait for a further ten years to play European football again.

DOS won the national championship in 1958. FC Utrecht has won the KNVB Cup three times: in 1985, 2003 and 2004. In 2004 FC Utrecht won the Johan Cruijff Shield. FC Utrecht was the first club outside the traditional top three Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV to win this Trophy. FC Utrecht is also the only club outside the traditional top three that has never been relegated out of the Dutch Eredivisie. Partly the cause of this may be the relatively late founding, but it has to be noted that every other team, apart from the traditional top three, currently in the Eredivisie has been relegated at least once since the founding of FC Utrecht.

FC GRONINGEN 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

FC GRONINGEN WALLPAPER enjoyed top flight football for most of their existence, although the club was relegated to the second division after the third season of their existence.
The club was then propelled back into success by the Koeman brothers, Ronald Koeman and his elder brother Erwin Koeman together with defending midfielder Jan van Dijk resulting in qualification to European football for the first time in the 1982/83 season. Their best season in the Eredivisie was during the 1990/91 season when they finished third.

The club plays its home games in the 22,000 seat Euroborg stadium. In December 2005, the club played its last match ever in the 12,500 seat Oosterpark Stadion after having played there for 72 years. The average attendance in 2004/05 was 12,500 people. This has risen to just below 22,000 people in the new stadium. There are plans to expand the stadium to a capacity of 30.000 or 40.000. The Euroborg Stadium is known to be one of the more atmospheric of all Dutch stadiums. Despite its relative short existence, it has already earned the nickname the Green Hell.

AZ ALKMAAR 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

AZ ALKMAAR WALLPAPER was founded on 10 May 1967 as AZ '67, the result of a merger of Alkmaar '54 and FC Zaanstreek. FC Zaanstreek was formed in 1964, continuing the professional adventure of the Kooger Football Club (KFC). KFC had been founded in 1910, had nearly become National Champion in 1934 through a narrow loss to Ajax in the finals, and had been professional since 1955.

In 1964, the brothers Cees and Klaas Molenaar, former players for KFC and owners of a growing appliance store chain, sought to create a powerful football team in the Zaanstreek by merging the two local professional teams (KFC and ZFC). After this merger failed, they successfully merged KFC (now "FC Zaanstreek") with Alkmaar '54, though the team would be located in Alkmaar. Partially through the hiring of expensive foreign player, the new club soon acquired large debts. Fortunately in 1972 the brothers Molenaar bailed it out and invested heavily in the club, to the point that AZ '67 were successful in the late seventies and early eighties. In 1981, they became Dutch champions and UEFA Cup finalists. Things went downhill after the Molenaar brothers left the club. In 1988, AZ were relegated from the Eredivisie.

AJAX AMSTERDAM 2011 TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER

AJAX AMSTERDAM WALLPAPER club were named after the mythological hero Ajax, a Greek who fought in the Trojan War against Troy. In The Iliad, Ajax was said to be the greatest of all the Greeks next to his cousin Achilles, and even fought an inconclusive duel with Troy's champion Hector. According to most accounts, Ajax died by committing suicide. Thus, unlike Achilles, he died unconquered.
Ajax succeeded in promotion to the highest level of Dutch football in 1911, under the guidance of Jack Kirwan, their first official coach. The promotion meant that Ajax were forced to alter the club's strip, as Sparta of Rotterdam had the same kit, red-white vertical stripes with black shorts. Ajax adopted a broad vertical red stripe on a white background with white shorts, the club's kit to this day.
Although their efforts were not unnoticed (Gé Fortgens became a frequent member of the Dutch national team for a while) they were relegated in 1914. While they immediately bounced back, they had to wait until 1917 to regain higher level status again: they did become league champions in both 1915 and 1916, however the 1915 league was declared unofficial (due to World War I), whereas in 1916 they did not make it through the promotion round.

WALLPAPER TEAM LIGUE 1 FRANCE 2011

Ligue 1 was inaugurated on 11 September 1932 under the name National before switching to Division 1 after a year of existence. The name lasted until 2002 before switching to its current name. The current champions are Marseille, who won their ninth title in the 2009–10 season. With their title, Marseille ended a historic drought having last won the title during the 1991–92 season.

Ligue 1 is generally regarded as competently run, with good planning of fixtures, complete and consistently enforced rules, timely resolution of issues, and adequate escalation procedures of judicial disputes to national or international institutions. The league has faced three significant corruption scandals in its history (Antibes in 1933, Red Star in the 1950s, and Marseille in 1993) and has preserved its reputation every time through swift and appropriately severe punishment of the guilty parties.

WALLPAPER SERIE A LIGA ITALIA 2011

During the course of a season, from August to May, each club played each of the other teams twice; once at home and once away, totaling 38 games for each team by the end of the season. Therefore, in Italian football a true round-robin format is used. In the first half of the season, called the andata, each team played exactly one time against each league opponent, for a total of 19 games. In the second half of the season, called the ritorno, the teams played in exactly the same order that they did in the first half of the season, the only difference being that home and away situations are switched. Since the 1994-1995 season, teams were awarded three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss.

Since Italy is currently rated as one of the top three European countries in terms of club football ratings,[11] the top four teams in the Serie A qualified for the UEFA Champions League. The top three teams qualify directly to the group phase, while the fourth-placed team enters the competition at the third qualifying round and must win a two-legged knockout tie in order to enter the group phase. Teams finishing 5th and 6th qualify for the UEFA Europa League Tournament. A third UEFA Europa League spot is reserved for the winner of the Coppa Italia. If the Coppa Italia champion has already qualified for the major European tournament by placing in the top four of Serie A, the third UEFA Europa League spot goes to the losing finalist. If both Coppa Italia finalists finish among the top six teams in Serie A, the 7th classified team in Serie A is awarded the UEFA Europa League spot. The three lowest placed teams are relegated to Serie B.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPER 2011

BORUSSIA DORTMUND wallpaper club was founded 19 December 1909 by a group of young men unhappy with church-sponsored Trinity Youth, where they played football under the stern and unsympathetic eye of the local parish priest. Father Dewald was blocked at the door when he tried to break up the organizing meeting being held in a room of the local pub, Zum Wildschütz. The name Borussia is Latin for Prussia and was taken from the nearby Borussia brewery. The team began play in blue and white striped shirts with a red sash, and black shorts. In 1913, they donned the black and yellow strip so familiar today.

Over the next decades the club enjoyed only modest success playing in local leagues. They had a brush with bankruptcy in 1929 when an attempt to boost the club's fortunes by signing some paid professional footballers failed miserably and left the team deep in debt. They survived only through the generosity of a local supporter who covered the team's shortfall out of his own pocket.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN SQUAD WALLPAPER 2010/2011

BAYER LEVERKUSEN wallpaper a separate football department was formed within the club. In the culture of sports in Germany at the time, there was significant animosity between gymnasts and other types of athletes. Eventually this contributed to a split within the club: on 8 June 1928 the footballers formed a separate association – Sportvereinigung Bayer 04 Leverkusen – that also included the handball and fistball players, athletics, and boxing, while the gymnasts carried on as TuS Bayer 04 Leverkusen. SV Bayer 04 Leverkusen took with them the club's traditional colours of red and black, with the gymnasts adopting blue and yellow.

ATLETICO MADRID SQUAD 2010/2011 WALLPAPERS

    ATLETICO MADRID WALLPAPER:
During their history, the club have been known by a number of nicknames, including Los Colchoneros (The Mattress Makers) in English, due to their first team stripes being the same colors as old-fashioned mattresses. During the 1970s, they became known as Los Indios, allegedly due to the club signing several South American players after the restrictions on signing foreign players was lifted. However, there are a number of counter theories which claim they were so named because their stadium is "camped" on the river bank, or because Los Indios were the traditional enemy of Los Blancos (The Whites), which is the nickname of the club's city rivals Real Madrid.

MANCHESTER CITY TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPERS

MANCHESTER CITY WALLPAPERS home colours are sky blue and white. Traditional away kit colours have been either maroon or (from the 1960s) red and black; however, in recent years several different colours have been used. The origins of the club's home colours are unclear, but there is evidence that the club has worn blue since 1892 or earlier. A booklet entitled Famous Football Clubs – Manchester City published in the 1940s indicates that West Gorton (St. Marks) originally played in scarlet and black, and reports dating from 1884 describe the team wearing black jerseys bearing a white cross, showing the club's origins as a church side. The red and black away colours come from former assistant manager Malcolm Allison, who believed that adopting the colours of AC Milan would inspire City to glory.

LIVERPOOL TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPERS

LIVERPOOL WALLPAPERS history, their home colours have been all red, though this has not always been the case. When the club was founded their kit bore more of a resemblance to Everton's colours at the time. The city's symbol of the liver bird was adopted as the club's crest in 1901, though it was not incorporated into the kit until 1955. Liverpool continued to wear red shirts and white shorts until 1964 when then-Liverpool manager Bill Shankly decided to change to an all red strip.

Some seasons Lazio have used a sky blue and white shirt with stripes, but usually it is sky blue with a white trim, with the white shorts and socks. The club's colours have led to their Italian nickname of biancocelesti.

JUVENTUS TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPERS

JUVENTUS WALLPAPERS have played in black and white striped shirts, with white shorts, sometimes black shorts since 1903. Originally, they played in pink shirts with a black tie, but only because they had been sent the wrong shirts. The father of one of the players made the earliest shirts, but continual washing faded the colour so much that in 1903 the club sought to replace them.

Juventus asked one of their team members, Englishman John Savage, if he had any contacts in England who could supply new shirts in a color that would better withstand the elements. He had a friend who lived in Nottingham, who being a Notts County supporter, shipped out the black and white striped shirts to Turin. Juve have worn the shirts ever since, considering the colors to be aggressive and powerful.

INTER MILAN TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPERS

INTER MILAN WALLPAPERS won the Coppa Italia, defeating Roma in the two-legged final 3–0 on aggregate (1–0 win in Milan and 2–0 win in Rome) and followed that up on 20 August 2005 by winning the Supercoppa Italiana after an extra-time 1–0 victory against original 2004–05 Serie A champions Juventus (before being stripped of this title). This Super Cup win was Inter's first since 1989, coincidentally the same year since Inter last won the Scudetto before 2006. On 11 May 2006, Inter retained their Coppa Italia trophy by once again, defeating Roma with a 4–1 aggregate victory (A 1–1 scoreline in Rome and a 3–1 win at the San Siro).

Inter were awarded the 2005–06 Serie A championship as they were the highest placed side in the season's final league table after points were stripped from Juventus and Milan — both sides being involved in the match fixing scandal that year. On 14 July 2006, the Italian Federal Appeal Commission found Serie A clubs Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina, Reggina, and Milan guilty of match-fixing and punished the five clubs involved. As a result, with the relegation of Juventus to Serie B (for the first time in their history) and the 8-point deduction for city rivals Milan, Inter became favorites to retain their Serie A title for the upcoming 2006–07 Serie A season.

FIORENTINA TEAM SQUAD WALLPAPERS

FIORENTINA WALLPAPERS season under Cecchi Gori's ownership was one of settling, after which the new chairman started to sign some good players like Brian Laudrup, Stefan Effenberg, Francesco Baiano and, most importantly, Gabriel Batistuta, who became an iconic player for the team during the 1990s. In 1993, however, Mario Cecchi Gori died and was succeeded as chairman by his son Vittorio Cecchi Gori. Despite a good start to the season, the Vittorio Cecchi Gori fired the coach after the defeat against Atalanta, Luigi Radice, and replaced him with Aldo Agroppi. The results were dreadful: Fiorentina fell into the bottom half of the standings and were relegated on the last day of the season.

Claudio Ranieri was brought in as coach for the 93–94 season, and that year Fiorentina dominated Serie B (second division). Upon their return to Serie A, Ranieri put together a good team centred around new top scorer Batistuta, signing the young talent Rui Costa from Benfica and the new world champion Brazilian defender Marcio Santos. The former became an idol to Fiorentina fans, while the second disappointed and was sold after only a season. Viola finished the season in 10th.
